defining character through Astrology

Historical Profiles

Trying to find out what their ancestors were like is the goal of everyone who does their family tree. Records can provide information about where someone lived, who they married, when they were born and died, but unless you are lucky enough to have personal documents such as letters or diaries, it is very hard to get an impression of someone's character once they have passed beyond living memory.

Astrology has been used for thousands of years to provide information about a person's character. Horoscopes can be produced for people who are alive but also for those long dead. Ancestral astrology provides a unique means of bringing family history to life. An ancestral profile looks at:

  • What were they like as children?
  • Were they good workers?
  • How did they react to change?
  • What sort of person were they attracted to?
  • What made them tick?
  • What sort of things upset them?
  • What made them laugh?
  • What skills did they have?

Knowing something about the character of your ancestor not only makes them real but can give you a clue as to what they might have done with their life. Were they the sort of person who would have travelled or set up their own business? Were they likely to have more than one family?

To order a personality profile, you need to supply the person's name, date of birth and place of birth. If you know the time, that would be helpful. If you are able to provide an idea of the person's background (e.g. labouring family, professional class) it will assist us in making suggestions as to what sort of work they might have done or how they might have used their skills. For example, a working class Victorian woman with a flair for design might have expressed this by decorating her hat whilst an upper class Georgian lady with the same gift might have taken up landscape gardening. Horoscopes show aptitudes but opportunities were limited in the past.

The price for an ancestral profile is £15. A sample profile is below. All profiles are produced by hand rather than computer printout which is why they can take up to two weeks. Profiles are supplied as pdfs and payment is by paypal.

Sarah Andrews has been a professional astrologer and HR manager for almost twenty years. She uses her interest in history to specialise in ancestral astrology. Her book on the characters of Britain's Kings and Queens since Tudor times is due to be published next year.

"Astrology is a science in itself and contains an illuminating body of knowledge. It taught me many things and I am greatly indebted to it."

Albert Einstein

"We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we have qualities of the year and the season in which we are born. ...The fact that it is possible to construct, in adequate fashion, a person's character from the data of his nativity, shows the validity of astrology."

Carl Jung

"The correlation between star signs and human behaviour has a statistical proof. In all our studies a link between star signs and human behaviour was proved in accordance with the law of statistics."

Rita Künstler

"The astrologer has as a starting point the absolutely objective primary information provided by the horoscope; information unavailable from any other source and this is independent of any self portrait or history the client might furnish."

John Anthony West

"The behaviour of the foetus at the time of birth is linked to the cycles within the geomagnetic field, which in turn are influenced by the solar cycle and positions of the planets. Resonance is the phenomenon by which the foetus is phase locked to specific cycles."

Percy Seymour
