defining character through Astrology

Presentation Profiles

When a child is born, the parents inevitably wonder what it will be like. Will it be a generally well behaved child or a natural rebel? Will it be a high flier or one of life's plodders? Will it be creative and find joy in music or art or dance or books or will it prefer sports or practical activities like fixing a car? The parents can do their best to guide the child, inculcating ethical value systems and trying to share their own enthusiasms, but character is something else and it involves motivation. Many people work hard, some because they enjoy their job, others because they believe that it is their duty, some simply for the money while others do it because their job is essentially their whole world. Astrology offers a way to find out what makes people tick and this is particularly valuable to parents who are responsible for preparing the next generation for the wider world. The more understanding a parent has of their child's character, the better they can help their development.

Astrologers believe that the position of the planets at birth affects the character of a person. Calculating the positions and analysing how they interact is a complicated mathematical undertaking. Astrologers do not just look to see which sun sign somebody was born under! People are infinitely more complex than can be divided into just twelve groups. The horoscope produced is a map for life and should take into account how people change over the years. Many a rebellious child has gone on to become a conservative adult whilst traumatic experiences can sometimes turn a very gentle and outgoing person into someone who is aggressive and incommunicative.

For the highest levels of accuracy, a birth time is needed as well as the place and date of birth. This is because traditional astrology uses a system of houses as part of its interpretation. Planets are seen as having specific effects but how those will play out in someone's life depends on the house in which they fall and this can only be calculated from a time of birth. For example, mars is associated with drive and energy. Mars in the ninth house of study might indicate someone who is naturally academic whilst mars in the tenth house of career shows somebody likely to be ambitious. Neptune is associated with dreams which may show a tendency to view partners through rose tinted glasses if it is in the seventh house of relationships but a more problematic inability to handle money well if it is in the second house of finances. Without a birth time, it is still possible to assess character based on the relative strengths of the planets but the same level of detail cannot be drawn.

Personality profiles can be generated for people of any age. A sample profile is below. All profiles are produced by hand rather than computer printout which is why they can take up to two weeks. Profiles are supplied as pdfs and payment is by paypal. Cost £20 per head.

Sarah Andrews has been a professional astrologer and HR manager for almost twenty years. She uses her interest in history to specialise in ancestral astrology. Her book on the characters of Britain's Kings and Queens since Tudor times is due to be published next year.

"Astrology is a science in itself and contains an illuminating body of knowledge. It taught me many things and I am greatly indebted to it."

Albert Einstein

"We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we have qualities of the year and the season in which we are born. ...The fact that it is possible to construct, in adequate fashion, a person's character from the data of his nativity, shows the validity of astrology."

Carl Jung

"The correlation between star signs and human behaviour has a statistical proof. In all our studies a link between star signs and human behaviour was proved in accordance with the law of statistics."

Rita Künstler

"The astrologer has as a starting point the absolutely objective primary information provided by the horoscope; information unavailable from any other source and this is independent of any self portrait or history the client might furnish."

John Anthony West

"The behaviour of the foetus at the time of birth is linked to the cycles within the geomagnetic field, which in turn are influenced by the solar cycle and positions of the planets. Resonance is the phenomenon by which the foetus is phase locked to specific cycles."

Percy Seymour
